What Kellee’s Students Were Reading in September
I thought we could do a beginning of the year check in with my middle schoolers to see what they are currently reading. My students do an It’s Monday! What are you reading? post whenever I do one here on Unleashing Readers; I love keeping up with what they’re currently reading and what they’ve thought of what they finished. I’m glad to see that other middle school students are reading Dogman but NOT Captain Underpants. There’s been a huge shift in reading towards graphic novels. Do you have manga at your school? I haven’t invested in any, since the series are so long, and they are often in paperback. Alex Rider, Megan Wagner Lloyd books, Lee Heart titles, and Spradlin’s Rise of the Spider series are big hits with my students.
