It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #IMWAYR 6/12/17

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme started by Sheila at Book Journeys and now hosted by Kathryn at The Book Date. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…you just might discover the next “must-read” book!

Kellee and Jen, of Teach Mentor Texts, decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join us! We love this meme and think you will, too.

We encourage everyone who participates to support the blogging community by visiting at least three of the other book bloggers that link up and leave comments for them.

 Last Week’s Journeys

Future Problem Solvers International Conference was 6/8-6/11, so I just got home late last night and am catching up on family or sleep or both. I probably didn’t read that much while chaperoning, but I’ll catch you up next week on any updates 🙂

I finally read Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley. Now I understand why this book is on so many lists and referenced often by scholars. This book provides many talking points. I assume that many readers of this blog have read it already, but if you haven’t, I highly recommend that you check it out. I was with several women this weekend, and I couldn’t stop telling them about it!

This Week’s Expeditions

More on these two later. 🙂

  1. I too still need to read Highly Illogical Behavior, so thanks for the extra push, Ricki. Kellee, I hope you have a little less busy at your house this week. Happy Reading to you both!

  2. Kellee, we’re getting closer to ALA, whoo hoo! Hope you enjoyed your WI trip 🙂
Ricki, I can’t wait to hear about Jane Unlimited!

  3. Kellee, If John Corey Whaley writes it, I will read it. I’ve never been disappointed by anything so far.
I adored Holding Up the Universe, but haven’t read Jane Unlimited. I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts on that one Ricki.
